A student of Barry Harris from his teens, he came up alongside peers like Brad Mehldau and Roy Hargrove, and shared the stage with legends including Junior Cook, Jack McDuff, and Ronnie Cuber. After decades as a noted guitarist, Ash has evolved into an accomplished bassist, bringing his melodic touch and driving groove to both jazz and Latin ensembles such as Los Hacheros.
