Alto Saxophonist/Producer G-Clef da Mad Komposa brings his innovative touch for a new generation in 2017 with a soulfully creative cover of A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Kodak Black’s hit song “Drowning (Water)”. Produced and performed exclusively by G-Clef himself on Alto Saxophone, as well as keyboards and programming. This version is at once an artistic rendering, rather than the typical imitative or genre-bending styles of covering hit songs. This is a complete reinterpretation by a seasoned jazz musician and hip-hop producer, with credits ranging from Illinois Jacquet to Wu-Tang. G-Clef considers this the direction millennial jazz must go in, for it to survive and flourish. He states, “The reinterpretation of modern pop songs are what birthed jazz music in the first place and kept it relevant and successful!”
